The Crones
The aim of the Conference was to foster an exchange of knowledge, experiences, and practices, and to offer all participants—both speakers and audience members—a renewed sense of strength and a renewed impetus toward effective collective action, here and now.

Over the course of two days, through four thematic sessions, we explored where and how this generation of women began, the paths and practices they had developed, what brought them together, what they had accomplished, and the paths they had opened—imagining them in concrete terms. The Conference also included convivial moments, as well as spaces for dialogue and debate.
On Saturday morning, Kathy Jones and Maya Vassallo Di Florio opened the Conference with a Welcome Circle Ritual, while on Sunday evening Morena Luciani Russo led the Shamanic Closing Ceremony of the Conference.

The Conference took place in the Carla Lonzi Hall at the Casa Internazionale delle Donne in Rome, located at Via della Lungara 19. The venue is part of the seventeenth-century complex of the former Buon Pastore – in Rome’s old Trastevere quarter, a place where many female stories and figures have intersected for centuries – probably built on the remains of the roman villa of Clodia. A historic site of the city, from the 1600s until the 1970s it was closely connected to the history of women and reserved exclusively for them, serving over the centuries as a hospice, prison, monastery, and later as a boarding house and reformatory for girls. Following an important agreement with the Municipality of Rome, in May 1985 the former Buon Pastore complex was entrusted to activists from the many feminist groups that had been based in the historic headquarters on Via del Governo Vecchio.
This event was conceived by Luciana Percovich, in collaboration with Valentina Musmeci for Falenablu.it and with the collective Anonima Crone – authors of Cronario. Parole Mutate Mutanti (Eleonora Ambrusiano, Paola Broggi, Roberta Fenci, Stefania Girelli e Luciana Percovich) – to which for this occasion, they were joined by Francesca Colombini, Ivana D’Andrea, Carla Ippolito, Francesca Lulli, Veronica Morosi and Ludovica Jaus. The organization of the Conference was supported by Maria Palazzesi, Head of Cultural Activities at the Archivia Association.
