Annarosa Buttarelli (1956), Philosopher, essayist and lecturer, she taught Philosophy of History and Philosophical Hermeneutics at the University of Verona, and Political Philosophy at ASERI, The Graduate School of Economics and International Relations of Università Cattolica Milan. She is the founder of the Festivaletteratura, one of Italy’s most anticipated annual events in Mantua. She was Content Director for Master’s Programs at the IUAV University of Venice and is now Content Director at the University of Verona.

Since 1988, she is member of the Diotima, the women’s philosophical community which developed the Sexual difference in Italy. She is founder and the Scientific Director of the Fondazione Scuola Alta Formazione Donne di Governo. She was the scientific director of the Carla Lonzi Archive, created at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome. She is a consultant to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry on Femicide.

She is known for writing, among other works, Sovrane. L’autorità femminile al governo, Il Saggiatore, 2013, in an updated and expanded edition in 2017, a long-seller that is accompanying the new phase of Italian feminism. In 2023, Bene e male sottosopra. La rivoluzione delle filosofe (Tlon), and in 2024, the monograph Carla Lonzi, Una filosofia della trasformazione (Feltrinelli). She curated the republication of Carla Lonzi’s works for La Tartaruga-La Nave di Teseo, which has already published three titles: Sputiamo su Hegel, Autoritratto, Taci, anzi parla. Diario di una femminista.
